MOSCOW, June 23 - RIA Novosti. The diamonds stolen from Alrosa were delivered to a company whose beneficiary is businessman and member of the Armenian parliament Khachatur Sukiasyan, the FSB Public Relations Center reports. Earlier, the official representative of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Svetlana Petrenko told RIA Novosti that security forces detained a gang that stole rough diamonds from the Alrosa diamond mining company for smuggling to Armenia, and that a company employee was among those detained. About 200 thousand carats of industrial diamonds, money, and jewelry were seized during the searches. "The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation, together with the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, has stopped the activities of a group of individuals who systematically stole high-quality rough diamonds from ALROSA (PJSC) for the purpose of subsequent illegal sale and smuggling into the territory of the Republic of Armenia... The stolen diamonds were delivered to Armenia to ADM Diamond LLC, the beneficiary of which is the Armenian businessman and deputy of the local National Assembly, Sukiasyan H.A.," the statement says. It is also noted that "the organizers of the illegal activity are brothers, citizens of Armenia, Bagikyan A.A. and Bagikyan A.A., who are on the international wanted list for smuggling rough diamonds."
