In Poland, Nawrocki and Trzaskowski advance to second round of presidential elections

After processing 99% of the ballots in Poland's presidential election, the electoral commission announced that Rafał Trzaskowski, representing the ruling Civic Coalition, and Karol Nawrocki, nominated by the leading opposition Law and Justice (PiS) party, will compete in the second round.

The results of the vote showed that Rafat Trzaskowski was in the lead with 31.1%, Karol Nawrocki was in second place with 29.7%. Slawomir Mentzen (Confederation) received 14.8% and came in third.
Following the leaders were: Grzegorz Braun, representing the Confederation of the Polish Crown (6.3%), Speaker of the Sejm Szymon Hołownia (4.9%), Adrian Zandberg from the Together party (4.8%) and Magdalena Biejat from the Left (4.2%). The Electoral Commission plans to publish the final data by the end of the day. The second round of voting will take place on June 1.
Let us recall that on the morning of May 18, the presidential elections in Poland began. Voting began at more than 32 thousand polling stations, where over 29 million citizens were able to choose one of 13 candidates. The turnout at the elections broke records, reaching 66.8%.
