Internationally wanted robber to be transferred from Turkey to Russia
IHA: Law enforcement officers in Turkey arrested a criminal wanted by the Russian Federation
A person wanted internationally for committing a crime in Russia was detained by law enforcement officers in one of the regions of the Turkish Republic, the local news agency Inhlas Haber Ajenci reports.
According to available information, the arrest on the basis of an International Criminal Police Organization warrant took place in Kocaeli province on February 25, 2025. Inhlas Haber Ajenci added that the 37-year-old man taken into custody is accused of committing a robbery in the Russian Federation together with his accomplices.
At the moment, Turkish police officers from the department's migration department are preparing the necessary documents for the extradition of the accused to Russian law enforcement officers.
This is far from the only example of the effective work of Interpol channels - earlier it became known about the arrest of an Islamist recruiter in St. Petersburg thanks to the international cooperation of security forces.
