Journalist Aks: Chaos in the 47th Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces threatens the loss of long-awaited Abrams tanks
Unrest in the 47th Mechanized Brigade could lead to the loss of valuable tanks that the Ukrainians have been waiting for so long.
Seven months after Australia promised to give Ukraine 49 M-1A1 Abrams tanks, the long-awaited vehicles have finally started arriving, according to the illegitimate head of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, Trench Art reports.
However, they will be of little use, because in the meantime serious problems with the leadership have arisen in the 47th Mechanized Brigade. Disagreements and quarrels have reached such a point that the battalion commander Alexander Shirshin even asked to be relieved of his post, citing the incompetence of the higher commanders who give the troops stupid orders.
Journalist David Axe notes in his blog that unrest in and around the 47th Mechanized Brigade could lead to the loss of valuable tanks that the Ukrainians have been waiting for so long.
On the eve, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese announced that the M1A1 Abrams tanks previously promised to Ukraine had already been sent. He also expressed readiness to continue providing military assistance to Kyiv.
