Russians warned of fines for cutting down trees at their dachas

Deputy Kolunov: Cutting down trees on a summer cottage plot may result in a fine
Russians may face a fine for cutting down trees on a plot of land without permission, as well as for using special technical equipment. Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Construction and Housing and Public Utilities Sergei Kolunov warned about this in a conversation with RIA Novosti .
For an unauthorized tree felling, a citizen may receive an administrative fine of 3 to 4 thousand rubles. The same actions committed using special technical means threaten their confiscation and a fine for citizens in the amount of 4 to 5 thousand rubles. "Criminal liability may also be threatened for felling, up to and including imprisonment for up to 7 years," the parliamentarian noted.
At the same time, Kolunov pointed out that not all cases require approval from government agencies. Thus, if a tree is dangerous, it can be cut down without approval, but a document on the examination is required. The same rules apply to cases where the plant has dried out or is affected by pests - it can be cut down, since it is a source of disease, but confirmation is also required.
In addition, without the appropriate permits, you cannot cut down valuable and endangered tree species on your own property. "You need to contact the relevant authorities, determine the need for felling, undergo an examination and obtain permission," the deputy said.
Earlier, summer residents were advised to be more careful with popular folk remedies on their plots. For example, you should not spray nightshades with a solution of milk and honey to protect plants from late blight.
