Surgeons of the Central City Hospital relieved a Novgorod woman of a 7-kilogram hernia

Novgorod surgeons performed a unique operation to remove a huge hernia from a 63-year-old woman who had been combining hard physical labor with caring for a loved one who also suffered from a serious illness for many years. This lifestyle led to the formation of a huge abdominal hernia, complicated by excess skin and fat. Over time, the Novgorod woman's life turned into real torture. Then the woman finally turned to Polyclinic No. 4 of the Central City Clinical Hospital for help.
The patient was immediately hospitalized.
The next day, after examinations on a multispiral CT scanner at Clinic No. 1, it turned out that the hernia was so large that the diagnostic device could not examine it entirely. At the same time, the patient's internal organs had already begun to shift inside the hernia itself. It was decided to operate immediately. During the operation, the surgical team led by surgeon Dmitry Zakharov performed prosthetic hernioplasty, restoration of the structure of the rectus abdominis muscle, and abdominoplasty.
️The volume of tissue removed by surgeons was 7 kg.
The Novgorod Region Ministry of Health reports that after the successful operation, the recovery period went smoothly and quickly. After 5 days, the woman returned home, moving freely, without pain or restrictions.
