Apartment renovations will continue to rise in price in 2025. RBC was told by the home improvement service Rerooms how much the prices will change.
According to the company's forecasts, this year the cost of repairs will increase within 10-15 percent. Last year, the price tag increased by a third. According to the results of 2024, the total cost of repairs increased by almost 13 percent, according to the information and consulting agency INFOline. Expenses reached 10 thousand rubles per square meter. In Moscow, the minimum cost of the commodity basket increased by 15 percent, to 9.7 thousand rubles per square meter. In the Northern capital, prices rose by 11 percent, to 10.3 thousand rubles.
Overall costs increased due to the rise in the price of a basket of goods for performing work: materials for rough repairs (aerated concrete blocks, cement, mixtures, plaster, heat and sound insulation, cables, wires) increased in price by about 20 percent, finishing materials (tiles, plumbing, floor coverings, wallpaper, paint, suspended ceilings, interior doors, lighting) increased in price by 12 percent. Of the finishing materials, electrical equipment, plumbing, tiles and floor coverings increased in price the most, and of the rough materials - fittings, cement-sand mixtures and aerated concrete blocks.
Over the year, the cost of workers' services has also increased — and the costs of the team make up more than half of all repair costs. When renovating a one-room apartment, you will now have to pay 27 percent more (29.8 thousand rubles per square meter), and for a two-room apartment — 31.5 percent more (32.1 thousand rubles).
Among the reasons for such a price jump, analysts cite currency fluctuations, rising logistics costs, and higher interest rates. Also, against the backdrop of inflation, staff salaries and rental rates have increased. In particular, the cost of transportation from China has risen by 40 percent. Interest in major repairs among Russians is declining, and the reduction in area per square meter only increases the cost of repair work. In 2025, another factor in increasing prices will be the launch of labeling of building materials. The measure will be introduced in stages from March.
Earlier, analysts estimated the future prices for major apartment repairs. According to construction experts, in 2025, it will be necessary to set aside 30-35 thousand rubles per square meter for repairs.
