European countries have begun to fear that the United States will push them into the background in efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine , Time reports, citing sources.
"The U.S. policy shift has raised alarm in Europe, where governments fear they will be sidelined by Washington in efforts to broker a peace deal in the Ukraine conflict. They are considering how they might fill the gaps if U.S. aid to Kiev is cut," the publication reports.
The authors of the article noted that these changes in the policies of states led to “an aggravation of transatlantic relations.”
Earlier, the High Representative of the European Union (EU) for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas addressed the United States, calling for overcoming the differences between Brussels and Washington. She stressed that "what has worked well so far should not be thrown out of the window."
