The Rospotrebnadzor Administration for the Voronezh Region reports that a resident of the region has been diagnosed with cholera. This is the second case in Russia. Two days ago, it was reported that cholera was diagnosed in a man in the Moscow Region.

"A case of cholera has been identified in a resident of the Voronezh region," says a statement from Rospotrebnadzor.

As it turned out, both patients were in India and arrived in Russia on the same flight on April 21.

After cholera was detected in a resident of the Moscow region, a circle of all contacts in 33 regions of Russia was quickly established. All passengers on the flight on which the sick person was flying were also checked. As a result of the examination of contacts, the second case was identified.

The patient is currently in the infectious diseases hospital ward and will receive antibiotics. All those with whom the second patient had contact are now under medical observation.

Rospotrebnadzor also assured that there is no risk of the disease spreading.
