Only one in ten respondents likes skyscrapers, while more than 50% of respondents would prefer to live in buildings up to 15 stories high. Therefore, even in the conditions of high density of modern megacities, buildings of different heights are preferable - for every taste.
As for the appearance of buildings, 44% of respondents value calm, natural colours that fit harmoniously into the surrounding environment. On the contrary, bright facades cause fatigue and negative emotions in the majority: only 7% of survey participants chose them.
38% noted the importance of natural materials in facade finishing, and almost half pay attention to the area of glazing. Large windows fill the rooms with light, visually expand the space and lighten the appearance of buildings.
The shape is no less important. 39% of respondents prefer architectural solutions with smooth lines, play of volumes and tiers, which distinguish residential complexes in urban development. Rectangular and simple shapes seem boring and monotonous to many - they were chosen by only 3% of respondents.
- The architecture of the building remains one of the key factors when choosing an apartment. According to our research, more than a third of buyers in the business and premium segments pay attention to the appearance of the buildings, and among young people aged 18 to 25, more than 45% stated the importance of this factor, - comments Yuri Kogan, Commercial Director of October Group and one of the authors of the research.
