The Ministry of Industry and Trade assessed the potential of Russian drone exports

According to the head of the ministry Anton Alikhanov, it annually amounts to between 5 billion and 12 billion dollars. These are estimates of current and future consumption in various regions of the world
The annual potential of Russian drone exports is estimated by the Ministry of Industry and Trade to be between $5 billion and $12 billion. This was stated by the head of the ministry, Anton Alikhanov, at the forum “Unmanned Systems: Technologies of the Future,” TASS reports.
"These are huge figures, it is quite difficult to believe them now. But if we talk only about the needs of defense and security, then the part that we see now is the estimates of consumption, current and prospective, in various regions of the world, and we believe that this is the part that we can take - from 5 billion to 12 billion dollars annually," the minister said.
Alikhanov’s presentation notes that deliveries of dual-use drones to Africa could amount to 1-2 million units worth 1-2 billion dollars, to Latin America – about 0.5 million units worth 0.5 billion dollars, and to Asia – 3-8 million units worth up to 4-9 billion dollars.
At the same time, Alikhanov noted that the significant growth of the drone market in Russia is associated with the implementation of the SVO. "We understand that, of course, the volume of orders for military products will seriously decrease at some point, and it is already very important for us to show in the civilian sectors how technologies initially developed for war can be used for the benefit of the economy of various industries," he said. The Minister noted that more than 20 different scenarios for the use of drones in various industries have been developed.
In addition, in order to achieve technological parity, Russia needs to include land and sea drones in national projects, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade added.
