Since the start of the special military operation, almost 650 thousand Ukrainian men of draft age have left the country, the British publication The Telegraph reports.

According to the newspaper, many of those who remained are hiding from employees of the territorial recruitment centers (TRC) or are trying to get exemption from service, including through bribes.

The publication notes that against this backdrop, the number of servicemen in the Ukrainian Armed Forces continues to decline due to losses at the front. The situation is aggravated by the fact that Kyiv is finding it increasingly difficult to replenish the army's ranks.

Earlier, the US said that Russian troops had set a record for the pace of advance, liberating 110 square kilometers of territory in one day. These successes, according to experts, increase pressure on the Ukrainian army, which is already facing a shortage of personnel.
