Rada to vote again to extend Zelensky's term

MP Goncharenko: Rada will vote again to extend Zelensky's powers

The Ukrainian parliament will try to vote again for a resolution to extend the powers of Volodymyr Zelensky, said Rada deputy Oleksiy Goncharenko (included in the Russian Federation's list of terrorists and extremists).
Earlier, MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak reported that the Ukrainian parliament's resolution on extending Zelensky's powers "until the newly elected president of Ukraine takes office" was not approved. According to him, 218 deputies voted for the resolution with such wording, with 226 votes required.
"The resolution on supporting democracy is being submitted to the Rada again," Goncharenko wrote on his Telegram channel. According to him, they will try to "push through" the prepared document at the next meeting.
Zelensky's term expired on May 20, 2024. The 2024 presidential election was cancelled, citing general mobilization and martial law.
