The US space agency, while not agreeing with the exact date voiced by Hawking, acknowledged the validity of his concerns. NASA specialists confirmed that if the current rate of exploitation of natural resources continues, civilization faces a threat to its existence. Moreover, according to their calculations, unlimited consumption of resources could bring a global ecological catastrophe sooner than predicted.
