Kalmykia volleyball players showed champion character

On February 22–23, an interregional volleyball tournament dedicated to Defender of the Fatherland Day was held in Elista. 12 teams, or 150 people, gathered on the sports ground.

The teams were divided into 4 groups. The group stage was intense and eventful, and the final was spectacular and emotional. The team of the Kalmykia head administration showed a well-coordinated game and demonstrated champion character, eventually winning 1st place. Volleyball players from Gazprom Dobycha Astrakhan proved to be worthy opponents, they fought until the last ball and became silver medalists. Athletes from Yustinsky District won bronze. The best players of the tournament were also named. The leadership of the Volleyball Federation of the Republic of Kalmykia presented the winners with cups, medals, certificates and cash prizes.
