A police officer was shot during a drug operation in Keçiören.

Ankara Police Department Anti -Narcotics Branch teams began following drug dealer Muhammed Furkan K. on 856th Street in Kanuni Neighborhood of Keçiören district.

Realizing he was being followed, the suspect opened fire. Police officer Ahmet Y. was injured in the gunfire.

Ahmet Y. neutralized the suspect, Muhammed Furkan K., with return fire.

Upon notification, 112 Emergency Health and reinforcement police teams were dispatched to the scene.

While the injured police officer and the suspect were taken to Ankara Etlik City Hospital, the weapon and drugs used in the incident were seized from the suspect.

It was learned that the police officer is in good condition.
