Actress Elçin Sangu shared a post on her social media account regarding the forest fires in Çeşme and Ödemiş districts of İzmir. Calling for help, Sangu said, “Look, this is not just any fire, this is a disaster. A disaster that has reached homes, reached the city and cannot be extinguished!” Sangu said, “We are desperately waiting to burn,” and complained, “Do something now!”

Forest fires in Çeşme and Ödemiş districts of İzmir grew faster due to the wind. An 80-year-old bedridden patient and 1 worker lost their lives. The fire in Buca, which was determined to have started from a welding machine, grew. The energy of the fire in Çeşme was reduced. The İzmir-Aydın highway was closed to traffic. While citizens in some regions tried to take precautions with bottled water with their own means, a help message came from actress Elçin Sangu.
