Antalya's Seljuk Pearl: The Yivli Minaret Complex Has Been Revived!

Located in the heart of the city, this complex has been transformed into a rare open-air museum of Seljuk architecture with the renovations.

⏳ The Seljuk Heritage is Dazzling

The region stands out not only for the Yivli Minaret , Antalya's symbol , but also for structures such as the Yivli Minaret Mosque, the İmaret Madrasa, the Mevlevi Lodge, the Mevlevi Bathhouse , and the tombs of Zincirkıran and Nigar Hatun . Walking paths allow visitors to pass around the crown gate of the Atabey Armağan Madrasa and journey through time among elegant examples of Seljuk aesthetics.

🔍 Findings from the Depths of History

Antalya Regional Director of Foundations Hüseyin Pervaneli stated that significant historical findings were unearthed during restoration and landscaping. According to Pervaneli, the crown gate of the Armağan Madrasa was restored to its original state , and multiple tombs were unearthed during the landscaping process.

The Yivli Minaret is Antalya's most important symbol. Three of the tombs unearthed during our work were placed under protection by the Cultural Heritage Preservation Board. While the exact date of the tombs is unknown, evaluations indicate that they may date back to the 1200s and 1300s , in other words, the Seljuk period .

Thanks to these projects, the original details of Seljuk architecture have been preserved , adding a whole new dimension to Antalya's deep-rooted cultural heritage. The complex now stands out as a historical and cultural center of attraction for both local and international tourists.
