In a written statement made by the Egyptian Presidency, it was announced that the international summit titled "Sharm al-Sheikh Peace Summit" will be held under the co-chairs of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and US President Donald Trump with the participation of leaders from more than 20 countries.

It was emphasized that the summit aims to end the war in the Gaza Strip, consolidate efforts to ensure peace and stability in the Middle East, and open a new page for regional security and stability.

It was reported that the international summit will be held within the scope of Trump's vision and efforts to establish peace in the region and end conflicts around the world.

Ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement in Gaza

US President Trump announced on October 9 that Israel and Hamas had approved the first phase of a ceasefire plan in Gaza during ongoing negotiations in Egypt.

The agreement was signed in Egypt, where negotiations were held, and came into force in the early hours of October 10 with the approval of the Israeli government.

Following the Israeli army's withdrawal from the "yellow line" as stipulated in the agreement, it was announced that the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip came into effect at 12:00 on the same day.

In Israel's attacks on the Gaza Strip between October 8, 2023, and the ceasefire agreement, 67,682 people were killed and 170,033 people were injured.
