Housing prices increased by 31.4 percent year-on-year in August

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) announced the Housing Price Index (HPI) for August. Accordingly, the HPI, which increased by 2.5 percent in August compared to the previous month, increased by 31.4 percent in nominal terms compared to the same month of the previous year, but decreased by 1.2 percent in real terms.

The Housing Price Index (HPI), calculated to monitor the price changes of houses in Türkiye adjusted for quality effects, increased by 2.5 percent in August 2025 compared to the previous month and reached 192.5.

The HPI, which increased by 31.4 percent compared to the same month of the previous year, decreased by 1.2 percent in real terms during the same period.

In August 2025, Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir saw increases of 3.0, 2.8, and 2.5 percent, respectively, compared to the previous month. Compared to the same month of the previous year, index values ​​in Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir increased by 30.2, 41.1, and 31.9 percent, respectively.

When the annual housing price index changes of the regions were examined according to the Statistical Regional Units Classification, the highest annual increase in the August 2025 period was observed in the Erzurum, Erzincan, Bayburt, Ağrı, Ardahan, Kars, Iğdır region with 41.6 percent, while the lowest annual increase was observed in the Aydın, Denizli, Muğla region with 23.5 percent.
