Desert heat warning from Meteorology: Scorching week begins

The Turkish State Meteorological Service has released its weather forecast for Tuesday, July 22nd. According to the assessments, temperatures across Turkey are expected to remain above seasonal norms. Experts emphasized that being outdoors, especially during midday hours, can be hazardous to health .
Türkiye is being affected by hot "foehn" winds due to the Basra Low Pressure, which has begun to affect the entire country. This heat wave, coming from Africa, has sent thermometers near record highs in many provinces.
According to the Turkish State Meteorological Service's July 22nd weather outlook, partly to very cloudy weather is expected in the northeastern parts of the country. Localized showers and thunderstorms are expected along the eastern Black Sea coast, around Ordu, Artvin, Kars, and Ardahan, as well as northeastern Erzurum. Other regions are forecast to be partly cloudy and clear.
In Istanbul, the lowest temperature during the day will be 24°C, and the highest temperature will be 35°C. The weather is expected to be partly cloudy and clear.
Temperatures in Izmir will reach quite high levels, influenced by the African heat. The city's temperatures will range from 26°C to 39°C. A clear, partly cloudy day is expected.
In the capital, Ankara, the lowest temperature is expected to be 19°C and the highest temperature is expected to be 35°C. The sky will be clear and partly cloudy.
The Meteorological Service reported that the heat wave will continue in the coming days. Citizens are urged to avoid direct sunlight, especially between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The heat poses a serious risk, especially for the elderly, children, and those with chronic illnesses.
