Former CHP Chairman Hikmet Çetin, who made headlines with his meeting with Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Chairman Devlet Bahçeli, also visited Murat Kurum, Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. Speaking to tele1.com.tr about the meeting, Çetin stated that it wasn't a political meeting, saying, "I just stopped by while visiting a friend."

Çetin stated that the Bahçeli visit was not a meeting with political aims.

Regarding the trustee discussions, Çetin said, "This is unlawful. The Supreme Election Board approved both the Istanbul Provincial Congress and the congress."

When asked whether he would accept the offer if it were to be rendered in the event of an absolute nullity decision, Hikmet Çetin replied, "I would stand guard at the door, why would I accept it?"
