Dursun Özbek: There is a great love for Galatasaray in Nusaybin

Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek and Polat Foundation President and former Galatasaray President Adnan Polat attended the opening of the Adnan Polat Galatasaray Education and Sports Facility in Nusaybin, a district of Mardin. They spoke to members of the press at Mardin Prof. Dr. Aziz Sancar Airport. Polat explained that the facility was built to educate children through sports and integrate them into society. He said, "This is something that started many years ago. During this time, we have reached 11,000 children. A year ago, we purchased 17 acres of land. We made investments. This is something we are doing to educate young people for the future of society. It's a social responsibility project. President Dursun also supported this. Just having Galatasaray's name on it is enough. I would like to thank the President."
Adnan Polat: "If Galatasaray has any success today, it is due to President Dursun and his management."
When reminded of his involvement with Dursun Özbek, Polat said, "This is in our culture. Our general assembly elects a president; there's no such thing as 'let him do it and see.' If the elected president asks for our support or assistance, we will do everything we can. This applies not only to me but to all former presidents. We also support the president. If Galatasaray has any success today, it is due to President Dursun and his management. I congratulate them; we are proud of them."
Dursun Özbek: "Our country needs these types of facilities"
Dursun Özbek, stating that Adnan Polat has built a very nice sports and training facility in Nusaybin, said, "Mayor Adnan has built a very nice sports and training facility. I believe this is a facility that the region needs. Thousands of children use this facility. Our country needs this type of facility. As a sportsman, I thank Mayor Adnan for pioneering and investing in such a facility. I also thank him as Galatasaray. We have seen how sensitive Galatasaray supporters are to this issue and how ambitious they are in providing facilities for the people of the region and the country. As Galatasaray, we are a pioneering club. We are the club that brought Olympic sports to Türkiye. In this sense, Mayor Adnan is our source of pride. As Galatasaray, it is our mission to continue such investments and to direct our business people in this direction. As Galatasaray, we will be following this project closely. As a club, we will provide all the support we can, both in terms of sports and equipment. This facility needs to survive. Mayor Adnan planted the sapling, and Galatasaray will continue to grow, develop, and contribute to the community." "There is a mission to make it more useful," he said.
"There is a great love for Galatasaray in Nusaybin"
Özbek, noting that the children here attend matches in Istanbul and tour the facilities, said, "Galatasaray has never abandoned this mission. It's a 120-year-old club, a club founded with this purpose in mind. There's a great love for Galatasaray in Nusaybin. You saw the interest in Galatasaray there. Galatasaray can't go unanswered. Galatasaray is a club that emerged from the Board of Education, has grown, and has become a global brand. Our duty is to continue this and serve the country's sports."
Regarding the club's upcoming events tomorrow and Saturday, President Özbek said, "Tomorrow at 2:00 PM, there will be an Atatürk monument unveiling next to our stadium. All Galatasaray fans are invited. On Saturday, we will be celebrating our 120th anniversary. We will visit Ali Sami Yen's grave and then continue the celebration at the high school."
