Iron European champion in athletics

Mazlum Demir won the gold medal at the European Under-23 Athletics Championships held in Norway. According to the Turkish Athletics Federation, the young athlete won the 10,000-meter walk at the event in Bergen.

The accomplished athlete held on to his rivals, securing first place in the final 3,000 meters and winning the gold medal in a career-best time of 39:45.84. Mazlum Demir had previously won the gold medal at the 2022 World Under-20 Athletics Championships in Colombia. Another national team athlete, İsmail Nezir, had previously won the silver medal at the 2025 European Under-23 Athletics Championships.
