Young referee found dead in his home

After not receiving any news from 33-year-old referee Muratcan Ilgaz, who lives in the Pamukkale district of Denizli , for several days, his relatives found him dead in his home.

The incident occurred in the Asmalıevler neighborhood of the Pamukkale district. According to reports, 33-year-old Muratcan Ilgaz, a long-time referee in amateur leagues and well-known in the sports community, was unable to contact his relatives and apartment residents, who then reported the incident to police and medical teams.

Arriving at the scene after receiving a tip-off, police entered the house with the help of a locksmith and found Muratcan Ilgaz motionless. Medical teams examined him and determined he was dead.

The death of referee Ilgaz has caused grief throughout Denizli's sports community. Fellow referees and sports clubs commemorated him by sharing condolences on social media.

Following an on-site examination, Ilgaz's body was taken to the Forensic Medicine Morgue for an autopsy. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
