Families gathered for morning prayers for Gaza in Istanbul

In Istanbul , the Cihannüma Association organized a program called "Families Gather for Morning Prayer for Gaza" to commemorate the start of the 2025-2026 academic year and to commemorate those who lost their lives in Israel's attacks on Gaza.
President of Religious Affairs Prof. Dr. Ali Erbaş , Governor Davut Gül, association officials and citizens gathered for morning prayer at Fatih Mosque.
Following the prayer led by Erbaş, the Quran was recited, and prayers were offered for the reopening of schools and for the end of the massacres and the loss of life in Israel's attacks on Gaza. Following prayers and recitations of salawat, Erbaş addressed the congregation, emphasizing the importance of religious education for children.Erbaş, noting that there are 20 million students in the country, from kindergarten to university, said, "I estimate that our student population exceeds the population of 100 countries. This is a great wealth for our country. We must transform this wealth into quality. Of course, quantity is important, but quality is more important. We must protect our children. We must raise children with good morals."
Erbaş also touched upon the attacks carried out by Israel in Palestine and emphasized that the oppression must end as soon as possible.
Pointing out that Israel is carrying out genocide before the eyes of the world, Erbaş continued: "There is oppression in Gaza. There is occupation in Palestine. Zionist occupiers are committing genocide there, right before the eyes of the world, right under our noses. We will continue to provide all our material and spiritual support to our brothers and sisters there who are defending their homeland, nation, and land. As all Muslims, as the whole world, as conscientious people, we pray. And let us say 'Amen' in such a way that the angels in the sky will understand our amen."
