Important development in the Les Ottomans case!

At the first hearing of file number 2025/307 E., heard at the 9th Enforcement Civil Court of Istanbul, a ruling was reached on the lawsuit filed by the Dutch-based debtor Unit Investments NV, the company of the hotel's former owner, Ünal Aysal. The court rejected the request to terminate the tender and also sentenced Unit Investments NV to pay 5% compensation for filing an unjust lawsuit.
As is known, the property in question was purchased by BLG Varlık Yönetim A.Ş. for 3.2 billion Turkish Lira in an enforcement tender held on June 30, 2025. The tender price reached approximately 4.5 times the initial value.
Aysal's allegations were not met with legal support.
Ünal Aysal, who made several allegations before the sale and attempted to halt it, argued that the hotel had changed hands for a price far below its true value. However, the court's rejection of the sale revealed that these allegations lacked legal standing.
BLG Varlık Yönetim A.Ş., in a statement following the tender, said, “Despite the debtor’s unfair claims, the process was completed successfully, and our company will continue to contribute to the national economy and manage its portfolio effectively.”
