The 2025-2026 Academic Year Starts Tomorrow: When will the holidays be in the new academic year?

The 2025-2026 academic year begins on Monday, September 9th, in primary and secondary schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education. This year, the first lesson will be taught under the theme "Protecting the Green Homeland Against Forest Fires." Approximately 18 million students and 1.2 million teachers will meet in 74,538 schools and 761,416 classrooms across Türkiye.
The "Türkiye Century Education Model," which began to be implemented gradually last year, will be implemented this year in kindergarten, practice classes, primary school 1st and 2nd grades, middle school 5th and 6th grades, and high school preparatory, 9th and 10th grades.
In order to instill a love of nature and raise awareness in students, a short film titled "Every Child is a Sapling" will be shown on the first day of school as part of the "Breath from Roots to the Future Protocol" signed with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, and saplings will be distributed to all primary school students.
This year, a new uniform requirement also comes into effect. The designated jerseys will be valid for four years and will not feature any branding or logos.
When are the holidays?The first midterm break of the new academic year will be held from November 10-14, 2025. The first semester will end on January 16, 2026, with the semester break taking place from January 19-30. The second semester will begin on February 2 and end on June 26, 2026. The second midterm break will take place from March 16-20, 2026.
