26-year-old man charged in Oneida Nation of the Thames shooting

A 26-year-old man is facing charges after a shooting at Oneida Nation of the Thames, southwest of London, that sent an individual to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
At around 1 a.m. on Saturday morning, police responded to reports of a break-and-enter on Oneida Road where they found an individual with a gunshot wound, said Ontario Provincial Police.
Members of Oneida Nation Police, Chippewas of the Thames First Nation Police, Munsee-Delaware First Nation Police and Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were all on the scene.
The victim was taken to hospital, and a 26-year-old man from Oneida was taken into custody.
The accused has since been charged with attempt to commit murder using a firearm, possession of firearm contrary to prohibition order, possession of weapon for dangerous purpose, knowledge of unauthorized possession of firearm, uttering threats to damage property and failure to comply with undertaking and release order.
He is currently being held for bail, and Oneida Nation Police is continuing to investigate in partnership with the Middlesex OPP Crime Unit.
Police are asking anyone with information related to the incident to contact them or anonymously call Crime Stoppers.
