Footage shows red card hit which put Limerick star Kyle Hayes in hospital

Limerick star Kyle Hayes was hospitalised following a serious knock in a club game on Friday.
Hayes’ Kildimo-Pallaskenry faced off againt Newcastle West in the Limerick SHC, with the game stopped after 17 minutes, following a nasty hit to the five-time All-Star.
Full-back Maurice Murphy was subsequently given his marching orders by referee Johnny Murphy.
Play had to be stopped for around five minutes in Sean Finn Park, according to the Limerick Leader, before Hayes was helped off the pitch.
An eye-witness said: “It looked very serious at the time and there was a lot of worry in the grounds. It looked nasty. If it was someone else I’m not sure if they would have been able to get to their feet like Kyle did. Kyle being Kyle, tough out, he got up on his feet again.”
Hayes was sent to hospital with a concussion and received an MRI scan.
After Friday’s draw, Kildimo-Pallaskenry will face Adare in round three of the Limerick on August 22, with their key man unlikely to be available.
Tipperary fans and all hurling fans in general, will be keeping a close eye on Limerick SHC updates as five-time All-Star Kyle Hayes suffered a serious back injury in Friday’s clash between Kildimo-Pallaskenry and Newcastle West.
