Laois-Carlow Division 1B hurling tie becomes latest fixture to fall

The Allianz Hurling League Division 1B derby between Laois and Carlow is the latest of this afternoon’s fixtures across the country to be called off.
The game had been scheduled to throw-in at 2pm at Laois Hire O'Moore Park but, following a pitch inspection after the heavy rainfall overnight and this morning, the Portlaoise venue has been deemed unplayable and the clash will now have to be played at a later date as a result.
It follows the postponement of four of the day’s other games across both codes, including the decisions taken this morning to call off the Kilkenny-Limerick Division 1A meeting at UPMC Nowlan Park and the Division 3 hurling tie between Cavan and Armagh at Kingspan Breffni.
