McGeeney to continue as Armagh football manager

Kieran McGeeney is staying on as Armagh senior football manager for a 12th season.
The All-Ireland SFC winning captain and manager was ratified for another year at a county board meeting last night. He has been the longest-serving inter-county football manager since 2023 when Colm Collins ended his tenure in Clare.
'Geezer' succeeded Paul Grimley as Orchard County boss in 2014 and had to wait five years for his first win in the Ulster SFC. He led Armagh to only their second Sam Maguire Cup triumph last year, but will be frustrated at losing the last three Ulster SFC finals.
McGeeney will also be hoping to make amends for this summer's All-Ireland SFC quarter-final loss to Kerry in 2026.
Last night's meeting also saw Karl McKeegan reappointed as Armagh senior hurling manager, while Barry O'Hagan, Míceál Murphy and Barry Murray were confirmed as the respective U20 football, U20 hurling and minor football managers.
