Rio Ferdinand fires fresh dig at Jamie Carragher after brutal 'clown' jibe

Rio Ferdinand has continued to fire shots at Jamie Carragher - now claiming he's "having a bad couple of weeks" after his take on Bayern Munich was criticised.
The two Premier League icons, now pundits, have been going at each other on social media this week and the former Manchester United has taken yet another swipe.
Carragher, when he's not at Sky Sports, gives his take on Champions League nights with CBS and will be part of their upcoming coverage. Bayern have been drawn to face Bundesliga rivals Bayer Leverkusen, who ended their dominance last season when they claimed the title, in the last 16 of Europe.
The Munich outfit reacted by changing their manager last term and Vincent Kompany is now at the helm having landed the job off the back of Burnley's Premier League relegation. Eyebrows were raised and Carragher claimed that appointment would be highly criticised if they were dumped out of Europe.
He said: "Bayern have not convinced me at all yet. Now they are playing against Leverkusen, who dominated Bayern in the Bundesliga recently. It's a 50-50 tie. In the end, I'm predicting Leverkusen (to advance). If Kompany does not win, there will be many question marks about his appointment"
Tennis icon Boris Becker, who hails from Germany, has snapped back at Carragher's opinion on Twitter, reminding him that Bayern are in fact very content with Kompany at the helm as he said: "Jamie is NOT well informed at all".
Ferdinand simply replied to the tweet and said: "Boris… he’s having a bad couple weeks. Let him off".
In recent days Ferdinand and Carragher's clash has centred around the latter's take on the Africa Cup of Nations, which has made huge headlines. He overlooked the continental competition as a major tournament, claiming it has impacted on Mohamed Salah's Ballon d'Or chances.
He said: "I think the problem is the fact he's with Egypt, and he's probably not playing in the major tournaments as such or maybe got a great chance of winning."
Some of his colleagues called him out before Ferdinand said: "The majority of people out there would say that. I don't think that's right, I think that's an ignorant thought process because the [Africa Cup of Nations] ... If you go to Didier Drogba, Abedi Pele, Samuel Eto'o, Riyad Mahrez, Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mané they will tell you we have to win this. I understand what Jamie is saying but I don't agree with it. But I understand that is the majority's fault and it's not right."
Carragher has defended his comments and also hit back at Ferdinand on Instagram, commenting on his post: "I didn't say that you clown, stop playing to the gallery like you always do."
