How Airbnb Is Thinking About Its Third New Business of 2025 — Hotels

Airbnb is running a pilot for its new hotel business in three cities with tough restrictions on short-term rentals: New York City, Los Angeles and Madrid.

CEO Brian Chesky talked about the hotel opportunity during the company's third quarter earnings call Thursday. Like Experiences and Services, both of which launched in May, Chesky said Airbnb views hotels as potentially a multibillion dollar business.

The focus for now is on independent and boutique hotels, mostly where Airbnb is supply-constrained.
