Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo is the highest-paid athlete in the world. This is according to the annual survey by Forbes magazine, which found a significant increase in earnings among the top 50 athletes.

All of the listed athletes are worth more than $53 million (approximately €47 million). One German athlete did not make the list.
