Prison, bank, embassy: In these Berlin hotels you can breathe history

Formerly a women's prison, today the city's most beautiful guesthouse: in Berlin, many hotels have stylishly brought the history of their buildings into the present.
From the bed, your gaze wanders through a bright, simply furnished room in Scandinavian style. Among the few decorative objects are leaves pressed behind glass. The sky outside the window is gray. It's barred, but only halfway, so escape is an option. Is this what it feels like to be locked up, locked in, or locked away?
Actually, that's a rhetorical question in a luxury hotel. However, during World War II, German resistance fighters were imprisoned here, and later, juvenile delinquents. Is it permissible to misuse such a charged place?
