Wedding in Menorca: The bride married in a dreamy vintage dress by Chanel

Wedding on Menorca: Mónica Anoz and Ignacio Álvarez Sanjuan said “I do” on the dream island.
For stylist Mónica Anoz and Ignacio Álvarez Sanjuan, Menorca was more than just a wedding location—it was a piece of their shared history. Ignacio spent every childhood summer there, and when Mónica visited the island with him for the first time, she was immediately enchanted. Although Ibiza had long been her favorite summer spot, she sensed a different energy on Menorca that seemed peaceful, light, almost timeless. There was no question they wanted to get married here one day.

Eight years later, on May 31, 2025, the couple exchanged vows on the grounds of the Hotel Amagatay. For them, this place was more than just beautiful. "When I met Ignacio, I discovered Menorca with him and was immediately fascinated," says Mónica. The fact that years later, Ignacio's brother would open the Hotel Amagatay for Annua Signature Hotels right there, and her mother, Virginia Nieto, would take over the entire design and landscaping, made everything even more personal. So personal, in fact, that Virginia lived on the island for an entire year during the construction period, accompanied by her family. The wedding itself reflected this close connection. It was full of positive energy, surrounded by nature and bright colors. The focal point was a vintage Chanel dress , which added a very special touch to the day.
The bride and groom wanted a colorful wedding with style and meaningFrom the very beginning, Mónica knew her wedding would be anything but classic. "I wanted a joyful celebration full of color, lightness, and art ," she says. Together with wedding planner Pepe Pisa and under the creative direction of Gab Foods, she realized precisely this vision. She found inspiration in a personal favorite book: "Seven Illustrated Books" (1952–1959) by Andy Warhol. "I knew the playful energy of this book had to be part of the wedding," says the bride, who works as a stylist, content creator, and founder of the brand Trenza.
With the help of her friend Amalia Aranguren of Antennae Studio and Gabriela Palatchi of Gab Foods, a complete visual concept was created that was colorful, playful, and full of life—exactly the mood Mónica and Ignacio wanted for their guests. Another highlight was provided by Almunenda Cañedo, artist and founder of When at Home, a close friend of the bride. She designed the waiters' name badges and outfits in a unique way. "She has an incredible sense of aesthetics," says Mónica. "Every detail was thought out, like little works of art everywhere."
