Mönchengladbach-Wickrath, May 18, 2025, 1:01 a.m., Hahner Hofstraße and Sandstraße - Mönchengladbach, May 18, 2025 - On Sunday night, the Mönchengladbach fire department was alerted to a traffic accident on Hahner Hofstraße at around 1:00 a.m.
FW-MG: Two traffic accidents during the night. A car carrying four people collided head-on with a lamppost for reasons that are still unclear. Fortunately, all occupants were uninjured.
Firefighters secured the scene, disconnected the vehicle's battery, and ensured fire protection. The scene was illuminated for better visibility and to assist the police.
While approaching the initial scene, additional responding crews noticed a second traffic accident nearby. A trike had left the roadway and crashed into a guardrail. One person was lying injured on the roadway, and another was on the track next to the road.
The first responders immediately initiated initial medical treatment. Both injured persons were subsequently treated by an ambulance and an emergency doctor and transported to nearby hospitals due to the severity of their injuries.
To support the police's investigation into the accident, the fire brigade illuminated both accident sites extensively.
The rescue train from Fire and Rescue Station II (Holt), a rescue vehicle from the Technology and Logistics Center (Holt), the Wickrath and Wickrathhahn units of the volunteer fire department, three ambulances, three emergency medical vehicles and the command service of the professional fire department were on duty.
