Heart-stopping finale in Italy! Napoli wins the championship - Inter go home empty-handed

SSC Napoli secured the Italian championship with a victory against Cagliari Calcio on the final matchday. Inter Milan also won at Como 1907, but finished second, one point behind.
SSC Napoli are once again Italian football champions. On the final matchday of Serie A, coach Antonio Conte's team beat Cagliari Calcio 2-0 (1-0) to defend their lead in the standings. Closest rivals Inter Milan failed to capitalize on a 2-0 (1-0) victory at AC Como at the same time.
Coach Simone Inzaghi's Champions League finalists finished second, one point behind. All other matches on the final matchday will take place on Saturday and Sunday.
Scott McTominay (42nd minute) and Romelu Lukaku (51st) scored to give Napoli their fourth league title in the club's history after 1987, 1990 and 2023. Coach Conte had to celebrate the title win in the stands after being sent off on the previous matchday.
Curiously, his Milan colleague Inzaghi also did not see the goals from Stefan de Vrij (20th) and Joaquin Correa (51st) as well as the sending off of Como's Jose Manuel Reina (45th) from the sidelines because he had also been shown a red card on the previous matchday.
