14-year-old boy kills his family because they prevented him from meeting his girlfriend online.

An act of violence shocked the community of Itaperuna, located in the state of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. A young man, just 14 years old, named Camilo Aldebarán, admitted to killing his parents and his three-year-old brother on June 21, 2025, in an incident that has sparked outrage and discussion across the country.
According to the Civil Police, the motive behind the triple murder could have been the prohibition imposed by the young man's parents on him from physically meeting his virtual girlfriend, a 15-year-old girl with whom he had an online relationship. Authorities reported having obtained recordings of calls between them, in which the girl encouraged him to commit the crime.
According to the studies conducted, Camilo had been in contact with the girl for about six years, beginning when they were both 9 and 8 years old, respectively. Their first encounter was through an online video game, and from that moment on, they communicated frequently. The virtual connection, which developed over time, appears to have evolved from a simple friendship into an intense emotional relationship characterized by dependency and manipulation.
Camilo used his father's gun, a private security guard, to carry out the murders at his home. The young man was arrested a few hours later while trying to dispose of evidence related to the crime.
Civil Police Director Carlos Augusto Guimarães offered terrifying information about the conversations found on the teenager's cell phone. "We saw messages about dismembering the bodies, burning them, or even feeding them to pigs. A total disregard for human life," he said. Law enforcement described these conversations as "disturbing and sinister," highlighting the level of planning and lack of empathy shown by both young men.
How did the conflict begin? The conflict apparently began when the young woman invited the boy to meet face-to-face. According to the officer, the young woman allegedly told him, "If you love me, be a man," exerting emotional pressure to force the boy to distance himself from his loved ones. In the text messages, the idea of carrying out a similar criminal act against the teenager's parents was also raised, but fortunately, this did not come to fruition.
Police have announced that the young woman has been found and is in their custody. She is being investigated for alleged joint involvement in the crime and incitement to murder.
Authorities have urged parents, guardians, and educators to improve dialogue with teenagers and monitor their online activities.
At this time, the young man remains in a social-educational unit , and it is anticipated that in the coming days the Prosecutor's Office will decide what legal action will be taken against him and his partner.
