TRI rock resounds at the Torreón Fair

TRI rock resounds at the Torreón Fair

With more than five decades of history, El Tri has established itself as one of the most iconic bands in Mexican rock.

Founded by Alex Lora in 1968 under the name Three Souls in My Mind, the group became the voice of a nonconformist, rebellious, and deeply urban generation.

His raw, direct style, laced with social criticism, earned him a privileged place in the country's musical history, transcending trends and remaining relevant throughout the years.

El Tri's legacy is measured not only by their more than 50 albums and their constant presence on national and international stages, but also by their role as chroniclers of Mexico from below: that of the working class, the youth without a future, the broken hearts, and the eternal struggle to survive in an adverse environment.

Songs like Triste canción, Las piedras rodantes, and Metro Balderas have become anthems for several generations, filled with a popular feeling that hardly loses its strength over time.

This Saturday night, the Torreón Fair witnessed this timeless phenomenon. In an atmosphere filled with nostalgia, euphoria, and distorted guitars, El Tri rekindled the spark of urban rock in the Laguna region. With Alex Lora at the helm, the stage became a space for communion between old fans, new generations, and that rebellious energy that has defined the band since its inception.

Much to the excitement of the audience, Alex Lora appeared on stage just after 10 p.m. wearing a white jacket with a beard and his signature black glasses, kicking off with the song "La raza más chida" (The Coolest Race). This opening energized the audience, which ranged in age from children accompanied by their parents to older people enjoying Alex Lora's style and antics to the fullest.

A man wearing an Aztec-style headdress arrived on stage to kick off this concert, which is eagerly awaited by Laguna fans, who always welcome the band with open arms.

"Greetings to everyone, we're very happy to be here," the rocker said, before unfurling the Mexican flag and performing the national anthem.

Active cell phones recorded the moment and later followed Lora's shout: "Long live Mexico, long live Mexico, cabr... and long live rock and roll."

"Perro Negro y callejero" and "Nacimos para rodar" followed. They then unexpectedly halted the concert for a moment due, they announced, to the wind, an action that angered the audience, who quickly tore down some security barriers to jump into the VIP area. Security didn't control the situation, as the crowd didn't return to their seats. They only managed to reposition the structures so that no more people could get through.

Approximately 20 minutes later, Alex Lora returned to the stage to delight his Laguna fans, who filled a good portion of the Torreón Fairgrounds. The night unfolded amidst the band's hits.
