Chiapas will invest 291 million pesos in hydro-agricultural infrastructure.

During the presentation of support for hydro-agricultural infrastructure in Chiapas , the state governor, Eduardo Ramírez Aguilar, acknowledged the federal government's support through the investment allocated to the rehabilitation and modernization of irrigation units.

He noted that these actions boost agricultural productivity, strengthen food security, and improve the living conditions of rural families.

The president affirmed that Chiapas is aligned with the Water Plan promoted by Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, assuring that comprehensive care has been prioritized in areas with the highest poverty rates, especially in ten municipalities, where efforts are being made to guarantee access to drinking water.

"During my tours of the communities, people asked me to live in peace. Today, that peace is a reality. What follows is social and economic development, and to achieve it, we will join forces across all institutions. With the support of the federal government and the commitment of the municipalities, we will do more for the people of Chiapas," he said.

Ramírez Aguilar also reported that his administration is committed to protecting natural resources, as demonstrated by the micro-watershed restoration program currently underway in 33 municipalities.

He also announced that, with the arrival of the rainy season, authorities have been instructed to maintain harvest roads in good condition to facilitate the export of agricultural products.

In his speech, the head of Conagua , Efraín Morales López, highlighted that this year the Federation will invest more than 450 million pesos to strengthen the water system in Chiapas.

On this occasion, 156 million pesos were delivered in the initial phase, while users contributed more than 135 million pesos. Overall, more than 291 million 400,000 pesos will be invested. This will improve irrigation on 19,000 hectares of crops, increasing the state's productive potential and strengthening its role in the country's food sovereignty.

For his part, Eduardo Altuzar López, representative of the Irrigation Districts in Chiapas, expressed his gratitude for the support of the federal and state governments, emphasizing that these resources will be used for the maintenance, modernization, and modernization of irrigation systems, improving their efficiency and reach in support of food security.

The mayor of Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Ángel Torres Culebro, described this initiative as a fundamental step toward defining a better future for Chiapas. He emphasized that collaboration between the three levels of government is essential to addressing the region's water challenges and implementing comprehensive water network rehabilitation projects for the benefit of the population.
