WOM launches unlimited mobile plan for 29,900 pesos to compete in Colombia after its rescue

After gaining new momentum under the ownership of SUR Holding and with the approval of the Superintendency of Companies for its $3.2 billion reorganization plan, WOM Colombia presented its renewed business strategy, which includes a simple mobile offering with no hidden charges: for 29,900 pesos per month, users have access to unlimited data, calls, and text messages. The company seeks to position itself as a transparent alternative to the country's major operators.
“More than just a plan, today we are presenting a declaration of principles. Colombians deserve operators who understand their needs, take care of their money, and offer quality services at fair prices,” said Stan Chudnovsky, shareholder of WOM Colombia.
This launch coincides with key news: on July 17, the Superintendency of Companies approved WOM's Business Reorganization Plan, allowing the company to guarantee its financial viability and continue providing services to more than 6 million users.
In a public hearing, more than 86 percent of creditors approved a 3.2 trillion peso payment agreement under Law 1116. The reorganization will secure more than 1,500 direct jobs, 4,000 indirect jobs, and thousands of allies and suppliers.
Although the agreement is for 18 years, most of the obligations will be settled in the first 10 years . Nearly 2,000 small business creditors will receive their payments in 2026. Furthermore, the commitment to the ICT Ministry for 1.5 billion pesos corresponding to 20-year spectrum licenses will also be fulfilled. The ICT Ministry, the main creditor, supported the process.

The company, which currently has more than six million users, used the announcement to reiterate the importance of maintaining a market with at least three relevant players .
In this regard, he called on the authorities to implement effective remedies in the merger process between Tigo and Movistar, ensuring a competitive environment, avoiding the formation of a duopoly, and protecting user rights.
“As a challenger in the sector, we emphasize the importance of preserving a market with at least three competitors. The industry is awaiting the conditions that the competition authority will establish to correct the current imbalance and prevent further concentration in one of the country's most strategic sectors,” Chudnovsky concluded.
