There is a dried fruit that is precisely what helps reduce visceral fat and protect the heart from serious problems.

New research by nutritionists published on EatingWell found that a handful of almonds a day can make a real difference against visceral fat, as well as protecting your heart from serious diseases.
According to researchers, incorporating this snack into your daily diet can be of great benefit in improving metabolic health.
“Almonds offer a combination of three nutrients: heart-healthy fats, plant-based protein, and fiber. They help keep you feeling full longer and influence how your body stores fat, especially around your waist ,” explained Stacy Lofton, a registered dietitian and one of the study’s authors.
Visceral fat accumulates in the abdomen and jeopardizes heart health, metabolism, and longevity. This is where this nut becomes a great ally.
Almonds increase satiety, which helps reduce visceral fat. This is primarily due to their fiber, protein, and fat content, as each of these nutrients slows digestion.

“With approximately 6 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber per ounce , almonds offer a powerful double effect, keeping you full and stabilizing your blood sugar,” Lofton said.
Another benefit of almonds is that they improve insulin sensitivity and blood sugar levels, thanks to their monounsaturated fat, magnesium, and antioxidants such as vitamin E and polyphenols . Research shows that their consumption regulates metabolism and glucose.
“Magnesium is involved in hundreds of metabolic processes, including how the body processes glucose and insulin. Almonds are a surprisingly good source, providing approximately 20 percent of your daily needs in just one ounce ,” Lofton said.
On the other hand, Erin Jowett explained that the fiber and healthy fats in this nut slow digestion and reduce insulin spikes, which is key to metabolic health.
Although almonds are high in calories, not all of them are available to the body, as their structure makes them difficult to digest. This is very helpful in reducing visceral fat, according to nutritionists.

“Including almonds in a balanced diet doesn't promote fat storage; it promotes better metabolic health, improves insulin sensitivity, and can be part of an effective weight management strategy ,” Lofton said.
