It's official: Amazon will close all accounts that have done any of these things.

Amazon is one of the largest companies in the world today. Its platform for buying and selling items and its dedicated movie and TV show space have been successful and steadily growing in customer numbers since Jeff Bezos launched it to the public in 1994.

But like any company, Amazon has laws that must be followed , otherwise your account could be suspended. The company has announced on numerous occasions that it will terminate the activity of profiles that violate the law and engage in suspicious activity.

Reasons why Amazon may close an account

The first and most common is account closure due to negative feedback on an inauthentic product . On their website, they explain that "if you sell non-genuine products, we reserve the right to immediately suspend or close your Amazon seller account and remove any non-genuine products from our fulfillment centers."

Amazon will also terminate the accounts of those involved in the purchase or sale of prohibited items. "Prohibited products include contraband , counterfeit, or pirated copies of products or content; products that have been illegally replicated, reproduced, or manufactured; and products that infringe a third party's intellectual property rights."

As explained on its website, " We remove suspicious listings based on our own product review. We also work with rights holders and law enforcement agencies around the world to take legal action against sellers and suppliers who knowingly violate this policy and harm our customers."

But that's not all. Taking any of these actions could result in " imprisonment, criminal fines , and other penalties, such as the loss of proceeds received from the sale of non-genuine products, damages claimed by the legal rights holder, statutory damages, and other damages, in addition to legal costs," the company concludes.
