Isaac del Toro, happy and supported

Mexican cyclist Isaac del Toro, winner of the 80th Circuito de Getxo-Memorial Hermanos Otxoa in Bilbao, after also starring in the Clásica San Sebastián, expressed his “happiness” with how things are going and how “supported” he feels by his team, the UAE Emirates team. He said he just wants to “continue enjoying” the moment he's in.
"I'm very happy about all of this and how the team is supporting me. I feel very supported and proud of the people who are supporting me away from home," Del Toro said after yesterday's victory.
Given this situation, he doesn't want to think about what the rest of the season will bring, but rather "continue enjoying" his current form. "I'd like to be optimistic and say everything's fine, but anything can happen. I don't think what I'm experiencing is as normal as you'd imagine, and I just want to keep enjoying it," the Mexican added.
Regarding his mood, he considered participating in the Basque races of recent days to be "super cool."
"It's always amazing to run around here. It's awesome to be here," he said.
Regarding the race, he explained how his team's plan to take a chance on him and Juan Ayuso, who finished second after marking the Mexican's pursuers in the final stretch, worked out.
"We tried to set a strong pace throughout the race to make the finish easier," he said.
“The teams tried to hold back against us, but they saw the danger and tried to go full throttle, too. That caused a bit of nervousness so Juan and I could accelerate in the final stretch and do as much damage as possible by the end of the race.”— EFE
