Lewandowski on his continued presence after his best season at Barça: "Age is just a number."

Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski confirmed that he will be able to play "at least one more year at the highest level," emphasizing that "age is just a number." The Polish international will turn 37 in August, and this season he scored 42 goals, his personal record for Barça.
In an interview with 'Mundo Deportivo,' he explained that he feels "good physically and mentally," adding that he is "ready for next season."
However, he declined to comment on whether he would consider extending his contract with the Catalan club, which expires on June 30, 2026.
FUTURE AT BARÇARegarding his continued presence at Barcelona, Lewandowski stated that it's "too early" to think about what decision he'll make next summer. "I have enough time to decide what I want to do. Now's not the time," insisted the forward, who admitted that as of today, he has "no idea" what his future will be after June 30, 2026.
"I can say what I want to do now, but in football, a year is a long time. For now, I think the most important thing is that I'm preparing myself to have a very good season," remarked the striker, who declined to comment on who should succeed him as number 9.
Lewandowski said this isn't an issue the club should consult him on, but he did acknowledge that "it's not an easy topic" because the current supply of forwards on the market is limited, and therefore their price is high.
"I haven't seen many players so far who have played at their best for more than two or three years and scored more than 40 goals. In general, the goal-scoring level has dropped a bit," the Pole reflected, before adding that finding "the perfect solution" will also depend on "the coach and the system" of play.
On the other hand, he described Barcelona's season as "almost perfect" and claimed that coach Hansi Flick has managed "to get every player to perform at his best."
"Next season may be a little more difficult, because all our opponents will want to beat us, but if we're mentally prepared, we'll be able to play with a little more experience, and in the end, it will be a little easier," he concluded.
