The timing is striking: the day after a meeting on Wednesday, July 2, between shopkeepers and the City of Schiltigheim on the cycle path project on the Bischwiller road, running from the 4-Vents crossroads to the Rue des Vosges crossroads, Nicolas Huss, manager of the NH3 services printing company, publicly announced that he was transferring his lease.

The manager of the NH3 Services printing company, located at 118 Route de Bischwiller in Schiltigheim (Alsace) for a quarter of a century, has made a radical decision: to transfer his commercial lease. This Alsatian affair echoes others. In Caluire-et-Cuire, in the Lyon metropolitan area, the development of cycle paths on the Strasbourg road sparked an outcry from residents last May. In fact, the removal of around thirty parking spaces left only 22 spaces for 84 families. Lyon residents organized an obstruction protest on Sunday, May 11, physically blocking the cycle paths with placards and banners. One of the protesters, Patricia Dominguez, already denounced the consequences of the new developments: "Shopkeepers will no longer have customers. Housing will sell for less." (…)
