Septuagenarian pedestrian knocked down while jogging in Dordogne
A 71-year-old man was knocked down on the morning of Wednesday, July 9, while jogging in Chancelade.
An accident that could have ended tragically. On the morning of Wednesday, July 9, around 7:30 a.m., a 55-year-old driver was traveling to Périgueux from her home in Razac-sur-l'Isle. As she crossed the town of Marsac-sur-l'Isle and entered the roundabout at the Reynats pharmacy in Chancelade, she was dazzled by the sun and failed to see a pedestrian crossing the road.
The latter, a 71-year-old man, was jogging and was violently struck while standing on the pedestrian crossing. The man, a resident of Chancelade, was transported by firefighters to Périgueux hospital with a life-threatening prognosis. Fortunately, his condition has improved, but he still suffers from several broken ribs and a head injury. The victim was kept under observation at the hospital.
