The bill supported by Culture Minister Rachida Dati is returning to the Senate without having been examined by the deputies. The text, which plans to bring together France Télévisions, Radio France, and the INA under a holding company, was rejected by the National Assembly on Monday, June 30, ahead of the debates.

She failed. On Monday, June 30, MPs overwhelmingly approved a preliminary rejection motion tabled by Greens on the reform of public broadcasting, prematurely ending debate on the bill. The bill, which provides for the creation of a holding company that would bring together Radio France, France Télévisions, and Radio France, was widely rejected by employees of the three companies, who were on strike this Monday. The bill, which has already been postponed multiple times in the chamber, will now be able to return to the Senate for a second reading, two years after the first vote in the upper house.
